Author, Artist, and Storyteller Bringing People Together Through Words, Music, and Film

VINCENT ALEXANDRIA

For Vincent R. Alexandria, a story is a way to reach another person—to offer an escape, open a conversation, or help someone feel less alone.

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Vincent is the youngest of fifteen children, a husband, and a father of five. Family and community are central to his life, and his work reflects a deep interest in people: what they carry, what they hide, and what they are willing to do for those they love.

A nationally published author, Vincent brings readers into the suspenseful world of Detective Joe Johnson through novels including Black Rain, Postal Blues, If Walls Could Talk, and Black Heat. His Marvelous Martin children’s books invite younger readers to discover the pleasure of following a mystery and finding their own answers. His creative life also spans music, poetry, acting, and filmmaking.

But his commitment to storytelling extends beyond his own books. Vincent founded the Brother 2 Brother Literary Symposium to bring readers and nationally published authors together through free discussions and book giveaways. Its purpose is personal and practical: to put books within reach and help people discover how reading can enrich their lives. His volunteer service with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America reflects that same dedication to young people.

With a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rockhurst College and a master’s degree in literature from Baker University, Vincent combines his understanding of people with his love of language.

At the heart of it all is a simple hope: that someone will open a book and find something they needed—a moment of joy, a new perspective, or the courage to imagine a different future.
